Leonardo Hotels once again proves that Warsaw is a city of art and artists by announcing a competition aimed at photographers from Europe. As part of the Art Lives Here project by Leonardo Hotels, three winners will receive a unique opportunity to participate in an artistic residency, during which they will be tasked with creating a series of photographs inspired by Warsaw. The best works produced during the residency will join the art collection of NYX Hotel Warsaw and Leonardo Royal Warsaw.
Art at Leonardo Hotels, especially at NYX Hotel Warsaw, is inspired by the city and at the same time serves as a source of inspiration for young artists. Works by leading figures associated with the Polish contemporary art scene – including a mural by M-City Mariusz Waras, a futuristic installation by Norbert Delman, and the now-famous “sun” – East/West by Anna Barlik – are excellent examples of this. The starting project Art Lives Here aims to attract even more talented photographers to Warsaw and help them take their first steps in the artistic industry.
The theme of the second edition of the competition is “artist inspired by the urban landscape” and the vibrant center of Warsaw is to become an inspiration for young artists. The jury of the competition – recognized representatives of the art world – will choose from the works produced during the residency one that will permanently join the art collection of NYX Hotel Warsaw and Leonardo Royal Warsaw.
The recruitment of artists from the world of photography to participate in the artistic residency has just begun. The jury of the Art Lives Here by Leonardo Hotels competition is accepting submissions until June 2, and in early July, three artists will begin their stay in Warsaw. All information about the competition can be found on the NYX Hotels website.
